Lentil Bolognese

This recipe i found on a tv show called ‘Eat Well For Less’ which i absolutely love. The premise of the show is, they take a family who spend a horrendous amount on food bills (usually they spend so much because they insist on buying all top end branded products etc), and swap their food and put it in blank unmarked containers to see if the family notice that their beloved brands have been swapped.

This particular episode focused on a family with two daughters. One, a vegetarian and the other was a training athlete who ate lots of protein i.e. meat. The mother was having to cook two separate dinners on many occasions. So they showed her this recipe to please both daughters at once as puy lentils are a brilliant source of protein and are also vegetarian!

This recipe is definitely one of the favourites I’ve made so far. The vinegar gives it a ‘meaty’ taste which may sound odd but believe me, it works! It was very easy to make, ingredients were cheap, and tasted delicious!
